Discrepancies and jams in ImaCash

Discrepancies and jams are incidents related to the cash recorded by ImaCash and the cash detected or processed by the machine.

Cash incidents

Review the incident before repeating an operation

This section helps you identify when there is a difference, how to review the issue, and what steps to take before repeating an operation or contacting technical support.

An incident can affect collections, changes, emptying, refilling, returns or any cash movement.

Cash difference

What is a discrepancy

A discrepancy is a difference between what ImaCash expects to record and what the cash machine detects or confirms.

It doesn't always mean that money was lost. It may indicate that an operation was left pending, that the machine did not confirm the movement, or that there is a difference that needs to be reviewed.

Physical incidence

What is a traffic jam?

A jam is a physical or mechanical incident in the cash machine.

It can occur when a bill or coin is not circulating correctly, when the device cannot accept or dispense cash, or when an operation in progress is interrupted.

If there is a jam, do not force the machine or repeat operations without first checking the indicated status.

When to review discrepancies

Review discrepancies when there is a visible difference, a pending operation or an incident notice.

  • A charge does not complete correctly.
  • The cash entered does not match what was recorded.
  • The machine does not deliver the expected change.
  • An operation is pending.
  • The inventory does not match.
  • An incident notice appears.
  • An emptying or refilling operation is interrupted.
  • The closing of the shift shows differences.

Access

Access to Discrepancies

The Discrepancies option may be available from the device administration or from a specific section of ImaCash.

Depending on your setup, it may show open discrepancies, pending issues, affected transactions, or actions available to claim, save, or review amounts.

If you don't see this option, it may be due to permissions, settings, or the type of machine installed.

Revision

Review an open discrepancy

When opening a dispute, review the available information before making a decision.

  • Date and time.
  • Amount affected.
  • Type of operation.
  • User or operator.
  • Operation status.
  • Machine information.
  • Recommended action.

Do not close or repeat a transaction if it is not clear what happened to the cash.

Amounts

Claim amounts

In some installations, ImaCash may allow you to claim an amount associated with a discrepancy.

This action should be carried out only when the person responsible confirms that it is appropriate to claim the cash or correct the operation.

Before making a claim, check that the amount is correct and that the incident has not been previously resolved.

Traffic jams

Save or register a jam

When a traffic jam occurs, ImaCash can allow you to log or save the incident.

This record helps to record what happened and facilitates subsequent review by a person in charge or technical support.

It includes all available information: affected operation, amount, time of incident and machine status.

If there is a traffic jam

What to do if the machine indicates a jam

Do not withdraw or insert cash outside of the process indicated by ImaCash, unless the technical procedure indicates it.

  • Do not repeat the operation immediately.
  • Review the message displayed on the screen.
  • Check if the operation was pending.
  • Check if there are any open discrepancies.
  • Follow the establishment's internal procedure.
  • Contact a person in charge or technical support if you cannot resolve it.

Difference between discrepancy and jam

A discrepancy may appear as a result of a jam, but not all discrepancies involve a physical jam.

Situation What does it mean
Discrepancy There is a difference between what is expected and what is recorded.
Jam There is a physical or mechanical incident in the machine.
Pending operation The operation has not been completed or needs review.
Inventory does not match The physical or registered cash does not match what was expected.
Permissions

Necessary permissions

Discrepancy and jam management may be limited to authorized users.

  • Lack of permits.
  • Profile restriction.
  • Module not active.
  • Establishment configuration.
  • Type of machine installed.
  • Action reserved for support or administration.

If you cannot access, claim, close or save an incident, notify a person in charge.

Facility

What can vary

The way you manage discrepancies and jams may change depending on:

  • The installed cash machine.
  • The integrated POS/TPV.
  • The user's permissions.
  • The type of operation affected.
  • The establishment configuration.
  • The active modules.
  • The defined technical procedure.

Some installations allow incidents to be resolved from ImaCash. Others require intervention from the person in charge or technical support.

Frequent cases

Common errors or situations

Before repeating an operation, check to see if there is already an open discrepancy.

  • A discrepancy is displayed after a charge.
  • The machine does not deliver the expected change.
  • The cash entered is not reflected in the transaction.
  • The inventory does not match.
  • The operation is pending.
  • The user cannot claim the amount.
  • The Discrepancies option does not appear.
  • The machine indicates a jam.
  • The issue appears again after trying to resolve it.
  • The closing of the shift shows differences.
Before solving

Recommendation before resolving an incident

If you are not sure what happened, document the incident and consult technical support.

  • That you understand what operation is affected.
  • That the amount coincides with what happened.
  • That the machine is no longer processing cash.
  • That there is no related pending operation.
  • That the user has permission to act.
  • That the person responsible is informed, if the procedure requires it.
  • That you are not duplicating an action already taken.
